Interview with Aida Hadzialic, Minister of Education in Sweden
One of the first things Aida said to me was: “We try to inspire people. My message is that everything is possible. You just need the right contacts”. A great start of the wonderful conversation I had with the 28-year-old Minister of Education.
When I asked her about the challenges she is facing, she said that the core issue is making students employable or becoming future employees. "We are going to do everything to make the programmes more attractive in the sector where it’s needed: construction, trade, industry, welfare and healthcare."
When it comes to teachers, Aida wants to create interesting career paths, provide higher salaries and to empower teachers to be able to show leadership
One of Sweden’s strengths which Aida would like to emphasize is the focus on innovation. She loves the way young people want to create things, to develop problem-solving technologies for the greater good. She wants a world where knowledge and creativity go hand in hand.
